Funding
When you make it clear you want to run in 2016, several multimillion and multibillion-dollar companies approach your team or are in contact with your team, offering to back you. They would be funding your campaign through large donations. Without this funding, you would be forced to rely solely on donations from your supporters, which will be a significantly smaller amount of money...by millions. However it implies some obligation to work towards policies that benefit them.
